WHAT IS POSSESS OUR LAND?Possess Our Land is a 36-month campaign to grow our faith and to raise money to purchase land for Lakeline Church. WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF POSSESS OUR LAND?LEVEL 1 GOAL: RETIRING DEBT AND GOING PORTABLE: $50,000.00 Raising this amount will allow us to transition our church into a school so we can aggressively pursue purchasing land. (For more information on why we are retiring debt and going portable, see Q&A 26) LEVEL 2 GOAL: MAKING A DOWN PAYMENT ON LAND: $300,000.00 Raising this amount will meet our Level 1 Goal, plus it will allow us to make a down payment on land. LEVEL 3 GOAL: PREPARING TO BUILD: $550,000.00 Raising this amount will meet our Level 1 and Level 2 Goals, plus it will allow us to pay enough on some land to begin plans to build. WHAT ARE THE PURPOSES OF POSSESS OUR LAND?1. TO HELP PEOPLE GROW TOWARD SPIRITUAL MATURITY. By challenging people to become like Jesus Christ who lived a life of faithful commitment, sacrificial love, and generous giving. This campaign is more about "faith-raising" than "fund-raising." Because money is such an important part of our lives, placing God's plan before money will mature people's faith exponentially. 2. TO RAISE THE FUNDS FOR GOING PORTABLE & PURCHASING LAND. By having a Commitment Day on November 20th where every family and individual in our church can give a one-time cash gift and make a 36-month giving commitment to Possess Our Land. 3. TO BUILD COMMUNITY & UNITY IN OUR CHURCH FAMILY. By having information meetings where people can actively share and learn more about Possess Our Land. The more common knowledge we have, the more unified we will be! The Greek word koinonia is translated different ways in the New Testament. One of them is fellowship. Another way is contribution. Fellowship and giving go together. As people give together, they naturally feel closer to one another. 4. TO CELEBRATE THANKSGIVING TOGETHER. By having a Thanksgiving Banquet on November 18th to express our thanks to God and to enjoy fellowship with one another. 5. TO CAPITALIZE ON A LIFE-IMPACTING OPPORTUNITY. By participating in a capital campaign that will give each of us the opportunity to follow after God whole-heartedly, to make an eternal difference in countless lives, to leave a significant legacy for future generations, and to be part of a miracle! |
