POSSESS OUR LAND: THE GREAT ADVENTURE CONTINUES

This is an exciting season in our church’s life. All healthy things grow, so we’re very encouraged that we had a record number of guests in 2007 with over a third of them becoming regular attenders! We’ve seen increased involvement in all areas of our church life – children’s ministry, youth ministry, Sunday worship, and small groups. Lakeliners are knowing Jesus Christ, growing to be more like him, and going to tell others about him!

This kind of growth makes us think about our space requirements and finding a permanent location for the future home of Lakeline Church. Securing land for Lakeline Church is what Possess Our Land is all about. POL is a three-year spiritual growth campaign where we’re asking God to use us and our financial gifts to possess the land he has for our church. The campaign began in January 2006 and will end in December 2008. So we are in our last year of the campaign!

Lakeline Church members and regular attenders have pledged to give $450,000 during this three-year period over and above their normal tithes to our budget. The total POL commitment was an average of $9,400 per family over the three years…or $260 per month…or $60 per week!

A campaign like POL is a large undertaking. There is much to find out: What? Why? When? Where? How? This webpage is an attempt to begin addressing these types of questions.

If you are new to the Lakeline family, we would love for you to join us. You can play a vital role in helping us finish strong!

Like so many churches before us, we believe God has given us some land. This is the way God has always worked. In Numbers 33:53, God told his people, “Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess.” (NIV) I invite you to make an investment during this last year of POL to establish a mission base for our church that will outlast all of us and impact countless lives in future generations!

This great adventure of faith is not about what we can do but what God can do through us. So please read over this webpage with an attitude of prayer. It overviews where we have been, where we are going, and our strategy to get there. May God bless you and speak to you as you seek his guidance.
