small_group_pictureWhat is a small group? Simply, it is a small group of people that meet regularly with the common purpose of developing friendships, learning biblical principles, serving together, caring for one another, and having fun in a relaxed and informal setting. Small groups are a simple expression of the biblical church. They are all about relationships and doing life together. Small groups are the primary places of really connecting with others as well as giving and receiving care in our church. They are the best means for authentic community and genuine life-change in our church. Whether you are a first-time guest or a long-time member, now is a great time to try a Lakeline Spring Small Group that will meet from January through April. It's a safe environment to learn and get to know others. You can talk a lot or not at all. No one will put you on the spot! To try out a small group and find one that's right for you, look at the groups below and contact the group leader.

Many of you have tried a First Serve Opportunity. What's next? Maybe you would like to learn more in-depth about your personal spiritual gifts and passions? Galatians 5:13, teaches that we are to "…serve one another in love." But how? And when? And where? And in what ministry? Do you feel that you are capable of accomplishing more than you are now? Do you sense that God wants to use you in a meaningful way, but you are not sure how? Do you desire to be more fruitful and fulfilled? Is what you are doing for the church not really your heart's desire? If any of those questions fit you, don't feel alone. Great News! Now you can experience the potentially life-changing Network Discovery process in a small group setting beginning January 29th. You will discover your spiritual gifts, your personal style, and your God-given passion which will help you understand how God created you and the area of ministry He has prepared for you. The Bible: The Story of His Glory
Thursdays from 6:30-8:30pm in Austin, Cedar Park, & Leander
Target: Anyone
Leader: Steve Pryor (422-9531; This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it )

The Bible is basically a story about God. When we turn to the Bible as a self-help book, we end up bored or frustrated with what seems to be a rambling collection of stories. What if the Bible is more about God than it is about us? How thrilling to discover that every element of scripture - the reports of events, the verses of wisdom, the lyrical prophecies - converge in one central saga of God. This small group will go from Genesis through Revelation and tie together the story of his glory. We eat at 6:30pm and begin studying at 7:00pm. Cost: None except providing food. Starts January 31st. (no childcare)

DAY & TIME TBA

The Lord's Table
Tuesdays from 7:00-8:30pm in Leander
Target: Women
Leader: Benita Walsh (417-5624; This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it )

How is it that we can have so much knowledge about how to lose weight, but be bankrupt in applying that knowledge? The Lord's Table presents the answer to this question as well as the solution to overeating, right from the pages of Scripture. We must believe that since God made us only God can fix us. Let's start the new year off right and study God's Word to find the reasons why we overeat, then apply the permanent solution it provides. Cost: $17 for the study guide that includes a 60 days of devotional readings. The day and time will be determined by those who sign up. Starts the week of January 27th. (no childcare)
