Attention Lakeline Parents!
The Kids Oasis children's church team (for grades 1 - 5) is starting a new adventure this weekend, and we are very excited! We will be walking through each of the 66 books of the Bible over the next year and a half. Each weekend we will explore a new book of the Bible and learn how to find the important people, places and themes of each book. Additionally, we will learn the "Jesus Connection" on how each book of the Bible points to Christ and what that means to kids of the 21st Century.
On this adventure, we will be teaching from the New Living Translation (NLT) of the Bible and our goal is to have every student learning from the same version of the Bible, on the same page at the same time. The NLT is the proven, ideal translation of the Bible for elementary readers, student's grades 1 - 5.
To achieve this goal, the team is promoting Group Publishing's "Hand's On Bible." Jesus taught with hands-on lessons and illustrations. The Hands-On Bible uses the same experience-based learning to communicate God's Word in an active, understandable way. With hundreds of fun, memorable activities and the full New Living Translation text, the Hands-On Bible makes the Bible fun with faith-building lessons!
We are encouraging parents to please take advantage of this wonderful Bible literacy program by purchasing this version of the Bible for your student. Copies are available in the Kids' Oasis Children's Church for a suggested gift of $15 for soft cover, $20 hard cover. Additional donations are requested from those who are able to do so as we are would like to make this Bible available to the student's who are not financially able.
Also, please encourage your student to bring their Bible with them each and every Sunday.
