Stomp Out Hunger 2008 Print E-mail

stomp_out_hunger_2008_webThis summer, some children in our area will go to bed hungry. Yes, it is hard to believe that this is possible in the richest country in the world. Because children will not be in school this summer, they will not have access to the meal programs. Hill Country Community Ministries feeds over 300 families each month which adds up to $360,000 worth of food each year. This need increases during the summer months causing HCCM to experience food shortages. The Stomp-Out-Hunger Campaign is a cooperative church partnership that seeks to fully stock the summer food shelves at HCCM by collecting food. Will you join with us for the 2008 Stomp-Out-Hunger Campaign?

Ways to get involved:

• From April 6th through May 11th: Bring the food and personal items listed below to Lakeline Church.
• On Saturday, May 17th, from 9am to 12pm: Volunteer to pick up donated food items from neighborhoods.

Temple Foundations: Healthy Bodies Print E-mail

"woman-with-barbells…your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit…Therefore honor God with your body."  ~ 1 Corinthians 6:19, 20

Join other ladies from Lakeline Church on a journey toward improving your health and fitness FOR LIFE!

“What I found is that if people recognize the body as a temple, that it is a "body by God," that they'll be more motivated to take care of it-versus when you feel fat after Christmas and want to go on a diet and then that lasts for a few weeks and then you quit. If people understand our bodies are a gift, and that they're called to be good custodians of this gift, then it's more likely they'll take care of the body for a longer period of time and get back on track when they get off track.” ~ Dr. Ben Lerner, author of Body By God

Our Mission:
To provide information, education, and opportunities for improving the overall health of the ladies of Lakeline church in ways that glorify God and draw others to Christ. We will use God’s Word and the principles within to guide and motivate ladies to seek a deeper walk with God, while strengthening their bodies and minds.

Our Goals:
 To apply healthy fitness and nutrition principles in order to make measurable improvements in physical and spiritual health over time.
 To build relationships with other Lakeline ladies through encouragement and accountability, both in groups and one-on-one.

Our Strategy:
In order to fulfill this mission and obtain our goals, we will be:
 Hosting health fairs and medical screenings to help ladies determine their general health status.
 Inviting guest speakers to discuss a variety of health and fitness topics and how they relate to our spiritual health.
 Providing opportunities for group fitness activities in 6, 9, & 12-week sessions (indoor and outdoor activities will be offered).
 Providing guidance in healthy meal planning and food journaling.
